Following a series of anti-Semitic, misogynistic, and racist posts, Kanye West’s X (formerly Twitter) account has been deactivated. The cause of the deactivation remains unclear, with speculation as to whether West, also known as Ye, deactivated the account himself or if the platform took action.
Prior to his account disappearing, West thanked X owner Elon Musk for allowing him to “vent”. In a farewell message, West described using the platform as a cathartic experience.
Musk later confirmed that West’s account was classified as “NSFW” (not safe for work) due to the nature of his posts, limiting its visibility. This decision followed West’s Super Bowl rants, where he targeted Taylor Swift and Kendrick Lamar. He criticized Swift for supporting her boyfriend, Travis Kelce, and accused Lamar of being exploited.
West’s recent behavior sparked widespread condemnation, with public figures calling for the suspension of his account. In addition to the offensive remarks, West’s posts included explicit content and controversial statements, such as identifying himself as a “Nazi” and praising Adolf Hitler. West also complained about his posts being suppressed.
